Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc. (QCAP) is the leading private nonprofit organization in the Greater Quincy area dedicated to reducing poverty and helping low-income people achieve self-sufficiency. QCAP was incorporated in 1965 and is one of 24 Community Action Agencies in Massachusetts. QCAP serves approximately 23,000 unduplicated people annually. Our service area includes Quincy, Weymouth, Braintree, Milton, Hull and surrounding Norfolk County and South Shore Communities..
Beginning on July 1st, recipients of the U.S.D.A.'s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps) will be able to use their benefits to purchase farm-fresh fruits and vegetables at the Quincy Farmer's Market. This project is a collaboration among QCAP, the Quincy Farmer's Market, the City of Quincy, MA Dept. of Transitional Assistance, and the Quincy Chamber of Commerce.
